U.S. versus Canadian healthcare systems
Many times during the healthcare debate we heard Democrats and liberals alike discuss how wonderful the healthcare delivery systems are in other countries such as Canada. In fact, Democrats modeled ObamaCare, in many regards, after similar socialized and single-payer systems.
Reality tells us a different story. The table below shows how our healthcare system compares to the Canadian “single-payer system” with regard to access to specialty care. For example, the wait time in days to see a cardiologist in Canada is 62 percent longer than the U.S.

Take an example from the real world. In February 2010, Danny Williams, the Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, decided NOT to risk heart failure by waiting for surgery in Canada – and instead crossed the border to have his heart valve replaced at a specialty clinic in Florida. Premier Williams also said he came to the United States because Canadian doctors still use an outdated heart surgery technique that requires breaking bones to reach the heart.
In 2010, a public opinion poll found that 42 percent of Canadians are willing to travel to another country for medical care. Is that what you want for America – for your family?
US Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are already predicting longer wait times due to ObamaCare. ObamaCare must be repealed. If ObamaCare isn’t repealed, we will all have plenty of time to talk about it waiting in line to see our doctor.

Something that isoverlooked in the discussion is the fact that the federal government will have the power to tell doctors how to practice medicine and treat their patients and with what drugs/procedures. The government will also decide what doctors earn and all doctors will earn the same amount, no matter what their speciality. Does this suggest young people will rush into the medical profession? I don't think so. That will further lengthen the wait for care. And how many people are aware that Obamacare will give the government the power to make automatic transferes from our financial accounts without our permission? I see Obamacare as more than a threat to our sacred liberties of freedom of speech and religion, but a takeover and intrusion into a major part of our lives. I WANT TO BE A FREE AMERICAN!
plain and simple: NO HEALTHCARE REFORM ACT(OBAMACARE!!)
